DON DOTSON, PRESIDENT & CEO, has 30 years of energy industry experience. Prior to forming Sable Bay Energy, Mr. Dotson served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Plantation Petroleum Company and held similar roles with the Plantation Petroleum II, III and IV entities. Mr. Dotson began his career with Amoco Production Company and next held engineering and management positions at Samson Resources and Samson International companies. Mr. Dotson is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and a MBA from Houston Baptist University.
DON ADAMS, EXECUTIVE VP of LAND, is a Certified Professional Landman. In this capacity, he is responsible for actively directing the operations of the Land Department. Prior to forming Sable Bay Energy, he held a similar position for Plantation Petroleum Companies III, IV and V. He has also served as Land Manager, Permian Basin for Amerada Hess, Land Manager for Southern Mineral Corporation, has been a consulting Manager of Land for several companies in addition to being Owner and Manager of Marada Oil and Gas. His first in-house job was as a Senior Landman for Sun Exploration and Production Company after starting his career as a Field Landman. He earned a BBA Degree in Business from Sam Houston State University.
ERIC ALFUTH, CFO, has almost 20 years of energy industry experience and serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Sable Bay Energy. Prior to joining Sable Bay Energy, Mr. Alfuth was CFO of multiple public and private upstream oil & gas companies. Prior to his operational rolls he managed an energy focused hedge fund and was a portfolio manager for AIG Investments. He began his career as an equity research analyst covering the energy sector for Prudential Securities. Mr. Alfuth earned an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA from Texas A&M University.
AAMIR AMIN, SR VP of BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY, has 12 years of energy industry experience. Prior to joining Sable Bay, Mr. Amin served in various roles at Marathon Oil, most recently as Commercial Manager for the Permian Basin. Mr. Amin has had various business development roles for both international and domestic operations and been a part of over $10Bn in A&D deals, including Marathon’s exit from Angola, Norway, and their re-entry into the Permian basin. He earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Houston.
MATTHEW HOOPS, VP of LAND, is a Landman with 8 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. Mr. Hoops currently serves as the Vice President of Land for Sable Bay Energy, leading the land evaluation for acquisitions in the lower 48. Mr. Hoops was most recently the Land Manager for Plantation Petroleum, an independent oil and natural gas company headquartered in Houston, Texas. In this role, Mr. Hoops lead the land evaluations and development of multiple formations in the Permian Basin and Central Basin Platform. Prior to this, Mr. Hoops served as a Landman at Anadarko Petroleum, managing assets in East Texas and the Delaware Basin. Mr. Hoops is a Registered Professional Landman and earned his Energy Management and Finance degrees from the University of Oklahoma.
JOHN DIFULVIO, RESERVOIR ENGINEERING MANAGER, has 8 years of industry experience in various engineering roles. Prior to joining Sable Bay Energy, Mr. DiFulvio worked onshore US basins in the Rockies, Permian, Gulf Coast, and Appalachia for ConocoPhillips and Range Resources. Mr. DiFulvio started his career in production engineering and transitioned to reservoir engineering and advanced analytics. Mr. DiFulvio earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, and a MBA from University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.
DOYLE ADAMS, VP of GEOLOGY, has 8 years of experience working as an E&P geologist. Prior to Sable Bay Energy, Mr. Adams worked onshore US exploration, unconventional operations, and business development for Marathon Oil. Mr. Adams evaluated geological prospectivity for unconventional acquisition opportunities in the Midland, Williston, Appalachian, Anadarko, San Juan, Uinta, and Gulf Coast basins. Mr. Adams earned a BS in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MS in Geology from the University of Houston.
